Data Residency Information
status:Projectrak Cloud
Introduction
Deiser has implemented Atlassian Data Residency support for PTK, allowing customers to choose where their data is stored: Europe or the United States. This document outlines important considerations, potential challenges, and verified use cases to help customers make informed decisions.
Atlassian Support Documentation on Data Residency:
Configuration Considerations
Realm Persistence
Projectrak will be configured with the maximum possible retention period in Realm Persistence (currently 30 days). This means that after unisntalling, the persistance of Projectrak Data will be of 30 days.
Migration Eligibility
When migrating an Atlassian product (e.g., Jira), Projectrak will not be available for simultaneous migration. Only the Atlassian product will be migrated.
Projectrak can only be migrated AFTER completing the product migration.
Regional Compatibility
An App cannot be migrated to a region that is not supported by that App.
Example: If Jira is fixed to Japan (JP), Projectrak cannot be relocated there since it only supports EU and US regions.
API Access After Migration
Users accessing PTK via REST API must use the direct URL of the region where their data is fixed.
Example:
US-fixed data: https://us-profields-cloud.deiser.com
EU-fixed data: https://eu-profields-cloud.deiser.com
If customers change their data region, they must update their API access URLs accordingly.
Technical Considerations
System Availability
During an app migration, the entire Jira Cloud instance will be offline, even if no products are being migrated. This includes Projectrak and the REST API service for that instance.
Installing Projectrak on a Jira Cloud instance already fixed to US will automatically install Projectrak in the US region.
