(8.1.1) Lists from an external data source
List with an external data source
The values of a list in Projectrak can depend on the values of an external data source. So far only databases are available.
1. To create a database connection, go to Projectrak → Connections.
2. Select Create connection.
3. Enter the required information.
For connection string you have the following examples of the most important databases:

SQLServer | jdbc:sqlserver://<server>[:<port>];databasename=<databasename>;schema=<schema>;user=<user id>;password=<password> |
Oracle | jdbc:oracle:thin:[<user>/<password>]@<host>[:<port>]:<SID> (if the password contains speacial characters, please parse it with double quotes: "password") |
MySQL | jdbc:mysql://<server>[:<port>]/<database>?user=<user>&password=<password> |
PostgreSQL | jdbc:postgresql://<server>[:<port>]/<database>?user=<user>&password=<password> |
4. Select a list in the Fields manager (Go to Projectrak → Fields.)
5. Under External sources, select a source.
6. Enter the field name, the connection (previously created) and the SQL query that will be used to get the values.
