Projectrak projects
A Projectrak project is a new entity in Projectrak — simpler and more flexible than a Jira project. In Jira, spaces, epics, and sprints help you organize work, but they don't always map to a real-world project. A real project might span two epics, one space and one epic, or any combination across your Jira instance. Projectrak projects let you define that boundary yourself and track it as a single entity.
You can add custom field values and link any Jira issues, epics, or tasks to it. This also makes it possible to combine product development with project delivery: digital products live in Jira and evolve continuously, while projects have a deadline and a delivery. Both can coexist in the same Project Navigator.
How to create a Projectrak project?
To create a Projectrak project, you just need to click on the blue button.
When you click, a modal will open where you can:
Write the project name
Associate a key with it
Select the data source: search and select existing projects and issues you want to link
Configure project access: by default visible to all Jira users, with the option to restrict visibility and editing to specific groups or users
Click on "Save" and you will be able to see the Projectrak project in the different views of the Project Navigator (List, board, and timeline).
Whenever you want to modify both the name and the key, you can do so by accessing it from the icon button.
If you want to delete a Projectrak project, you can also do it from the same icon button.
What can I do with the Projectrak project?
In the List view, you can search, filter, and update values of Projectrak projects, just like we do with Jira projects.
In the Board view, Projectrak projects can be moved between different columns to modify values such as status, priority…
In the Timeline view, you will be able to create milestones associated with the Projectrak projects.
