Exciting Updates to Exporter! 🚀

  • Exporter is now a Forge app! While some modules remain on Connect, this marks the first step toward becoming a fully Forge-based app, ensuring you get the best possible experience.

  • Smaller exports, bigger convenience. We’ve reduced exported file sizes by over 50%, making them easier to share and eliminating size-related issues.

  • Rock-solid reliability. Our new infrastructure guarantees 99.9% export reliability—whether you’re exporting 100 issues or 100,000.

  • All-in-One Simplicity: Exporter now in a single screen! Say hello to an improved export experience! Operate the entire tool from a single screen with just a few clicks: choose your format, add extras, select immediate or scheduled export, and preview the exact number of issues to be exported.

 

New features in the new Exporter

  1. Customization for Jira Service Management
    Users will now be able to choose whether to export all types of comments or only external ones.

  2. File renaming
    Users can customize the exported file name, including date, time, and relevant details (e.g., filter or project name).

  3. Cron expression
    More customizable scheduled exports. This allows users to automate exports at specific intervals, such as quarterly, annual, or at any custom frequency, ensuring data is exported without manual intervention.

  4. Select the exact time in Scheduled exports 🔥🔥🔥
    Users can select the exact time they wish to receive their scheduled exports.

 

Boost your exporting experience: progress & feedback in action!

Avoiding long waits: For large files, users will have the option to receive a notification via email when the download is ready. The file will be available for 24 hours.

Progress and user feedback: The user will see the export process as a percentage and the user will be informed that the final export file is in the process of being saved.

 

Excel enhancements

  • Color differentiation:

    • Purple: Issue columns

    • Orange: Comments

    • Green: Transitions

  • Structured headers: The headers will be organized into one row for better comprehension.

  • Improved readability and sorting:

    • Text alignment: The text fields will be aligned at the top in all cells to make them easier to read.

    • Avoiding merged cells: When exporting, there will be no merged cells hat hinder sorting and filtering of data.

 

Revamp your workflow: Upgrades to the scheduled export manager!

1. Export name: View the content of the export by clicking on the export name.

2. Creator: View the creator profile by clicking on their name.

3. Recipients: You can see all the avatar list of recipients exports in each export.

The home view provides two quick export options:

  • From filter: Filter export provide users to export issues and columns from their saved filters.

  • Custom: Direct access to an export in the issue view.

 

 

Also new Exporter includes:

  • Tailored exports: deliver customized data for specific groups or users!
    The administrator will be able to decide which users or groups have access to export functionalities.

  • Seamless API integration: connect effortlessly with external services!
    This enables users to connect and interact with various services and platforms, enhancing functionality and providing more flexibility for custom workflows.
